Newsalert Tax Department - “Tax free” step-up for real estate assets of entities operating in hotel and thermal sectors

Art. 6-bis of Law Decree no. 23 of 8 April 2020 (“DL Liquidity”), as converted into Law no. 40 of 5 June 2020 (published on the Italian Official Journal no. 143 of 6 June 2020), introduced for entities operating in the hotel and thermal sectors the possibility to step-up the value of the real estate assets accounted for in the financial statements as of 31 December 2019 without the payment of any substitute tax or other taxes.
