Newsletter - New rules regulating class action in Italy

On 3 April 2019, the Italian legislature granted final approval to the draft bill No. 844, titled “Rules on class action” (hereinafter, the “Bill”), which reformed the rules governing class action, previously contained in Legislative Decree No. 206/2005 (the Italian Consumer Code). By virtue of the new law, the whole regulatory framework on class actions will be found exclusively in the Italian Code of Civil Procedure.

The Bill, to be published in the Gazzetta Ufficiale, brings about significant changes.
